this week we're continuing our history lesson with Neils Bohr and his theory of how electrons behave. He was the guy who discovered that it's the ELECTRONS that determine how an element will act and react.
Here's a LINK TO THE CHAPTER 4 POWER POINT.
MONDAY-- history of Neils Bohr; electromagnetic spectrum; particle-wave theory of light; electrons and photon absorption/emission.
HW: ch 4 sx 1 worksheet due TOMORROW
TUESDAY-- lab: flame tests and photon absorption/emission
WEDNESDAY-- finish lab in Chem E: chem B will miss class so we will finish next week.
THURSDAY, FRIDAY, MONDAY-- FALL BREAK!
TUESDAY-- Finish flame test lab: work with Gizmo on photoelectric effect in Hydrogen
HW: READ CHAPTER 4, SECTION 2 FOR TOMORROW!
WEDNESDAY-- electron orbitals; More with Bohr's models
THURSDAY-- electron configuration gizmo--BRING LAPTOP TO CLASS!!
HW: gizmo worksheet due AT END OF CLASS; READ chap 4, section 3
FRIDAY: QUICK QUIZ ON ELECTRON CONFIGURATION: more on electron orbitals
